2021 will have an investment increase of 6.2% in Information Technology

The international consulting firm Gartner predicts that worldwide there will be an increase in investment in Information Technology (IT) of 6.2% compared to 2020, reaching $3.9 trillion.

During the pandemic, IT has become the main lifeboat of many companies that managed to give continuity to their business through this technological model.

Among the technologies that will have a greater growth is a business software with a rise of 8.8%, as a consequence of the prolonged increase in remote work.

Gartner expects global IT spending related to telecommuting to reach $ 332.9 billion in 2021, an increase of 4.9% over 2020.

Similarly, areas such as cloud computing, business application development, cybersecurity, and customer experience will continue to be technology trends that will continue to grow as part of the digital transformation strategy that will continue throughout the year.

It is estimated that by the end of 2021, about 75% of large companies in Latin America will switch to a cloud-centric application infrastructure, which will represent 35% of total spending dedicated to IT.

Likewise, companies are expected to opt for hyper-automation within their processes both internally and externally, thus accelerating digital transformation models.

Good IT management is essential for business growth in all sectors, with its inclusion in every part of the business hierarchy will allow you to see a positive impact on your return on investment.

In the same way, IT is scalable so it will grow as your needs grow, belying the belief that it is only accessible and useful for large companies.

"Increased levels of digitization of internal processes, the supply chain, interactions with customers and partners, and service delivery will arrive in 2021, allowing IT to move from supporting the business to being the business," said John -David Lovelock, vice president of research at Gartner.

In the case of Costa Rica, there are companies such as AntIT that develop differentiated technologies linked to the Fourth Industrial Revolution, such as payment platforms, high-load App, FinTech products, among others.

Argentina remains the country that will see its spending on IT grow the most with an increase of 24.1% year-on-year, Colombia 5.4%, Brazil 12.2%, and Chile 6.3%.

Also, with the inclusion of IT technology, your company will be able to improve the management of its information, making processes simpler and more efficient.

In the same way, it will make it easier for you to control multiple technological platforms, allowing you to stay at the forefront of trends that add competitiveness and innovation to any business.

Also, IT improves data collection, selection, comparison, distribution, treatment, storage, and protection of such information.
